Alexander McAdam, M.D., Ph.D., D(ABMM), is ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿President 2025-2026, Chief of the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Medical Director of the Infectious Diseases Diagnostic Laboratory at Boston Children’s Hospital and associate professor of pathology at Harvard Medical School.

McAdam is a fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology and has presented talks at the General Meeting of the ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿, the Laboratory Medicine meeting of the Academy of Clinical Laboratory Physicians and Scientists, the Annual Meeting of the Association of Molecular Pathology and IDWeek. He has published more than 150 papers and has authored chapters on clinical microbiology in Harrison’s Principles of Internal Medicine, Robbins and Cotran Pathologic Basis of Disease, Principles of Pharmacology, and Molecular Microbiology: Diagnostic Principles and Practice. He is a volume editor of the Manual of Clinical Microbiology and former Editor in Chief of the Journal of Clinical Microbiology.
