The ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ (ASM) proudly congratulates the 2024 fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). This prestigious honor recognizes individuals for their contributions to the advancement of science or its application for the benefit of society. Of the 471 scientists elected as 2024 AAAS Fellows, 34 are ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿members, including 20 who are also fellows of the American Academy of Microbiology (Academy), ASM’s honorific leadership group.

Notably, 3 past ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿Presidents are among this distinguished cohort, recognized for their leadership and contributions to microbiology:

  • Virginia Miller, Ph.D. (ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿President, 2024).
  • Steven Finkel, Ph.D. (ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿President, 2022).
