"Ready or Not, Here They Come": Laboratory Preparedness for Cyberattacks and Natural Disasters

Cybersecurity attacks and natural disasters are unfortunate and frequent realities that worldwide health care systems face. This webinar will focus on the rationale that microbiology laboratories can apply and steps they can take to prepare for such service-disrupting events.

Learning Objectives

  1. Recognize and categorize the various types of risks, whether from malicious actors or natural disasters, that can directly impact laboratory operations.
  2. Identify strategies the laboratory can use to prepare for the risk of and minimize fallout from a cyberattack.
  3. Develop an emergency preparedness plan in the case of natural disasters and other unexpected events.
