Scientific Content Criteria & Requirements for The ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿Mechanism Discovery Meeting Abstracts
Please also review the ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿Microbe 2026 general abstract guidelines as well for a smooth abstract submission process.
- The reason for the study or how the study came about (e.g. hypothesis, discovery or central question) should be clearly stated.
- The objective and experimental design should be briefly detailed.
- Data must be objectively gathered, analyzed and reported.
- Conclusion(s) or inferences should be made and supported by data. The study does not need to be fully complete, and preliminary results and conclusions are acceptable.
- Scientific presentations at ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿Microbe 2026 will be expected to transparently report a study’s scientific rigor.
ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿Mechanism Discovery Key Focus Areas Accepting Abstracts
Uncover emergent principles of microbial life by integrating structural biology, multi-omics and high-throughput technologies with computational modeling.
Explore the molecular basis of microbial growth, metabolism, cell division and morphology under diverse environmental and genetic contexts.
Investigate how microbes coordinate internal organization, molecular localization and temporal dynamics to drive key cellular processes.
Decipher the molecular and ecological mechanisms driving microbial cooperation, competition and communication within and across species.
Probe microbial strategies for colonization, persistence and immune modulation, with a focus on host-pathogen and host-commensal dynamics.
Decode how microbes process signals and regulate expression, including transcription, translation and post-translational modifications in diverse environments.
Understand microbial defense strategies and adaptations to biotic stressors, including bacteriophage infection, microbial predatory and host-imposed stress.
Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Chatbots or Large Language Models (LLMs)
Please refere to our general guidelines on the use of AI, Chatbots and Large Language Models (LLMs).
Decisions of the program committee are final. Abstracts submitted under the ‘Oral or Poster’ presentation preference are not guaranteed an oral presentation assignment. Abstracts not selected for oral presentation will be assigned as posters.
