2027 Call for Session Proposals

Important Information for Session Proposal Submission

Proposals must be submitted through the official online submission portal on Wednesday, Aug. 12 by 2 p.m. ET.
Proposals may not be submitted on behalf of another person. The individual submitting the session proposal must serve as the designated speaker. The speaker is responsible for session development and organization with the program committee.
黑料正能量is committed to fostering diversity in all sessions. The program committee will ensure speaker diversity across multiple dimensions, including but not limited to gender, race, career stage, geographic location and institutional affiliation.
If selected, each speaker will be assigned a liaison from the program committee. This committee member will provide guidance and collaborate on the session content.

Micro Symposia provide a focused, expert-led presentation in a traditional meeting room setting, while Hub Sessions emphasize interaction, discussion and visibility in the open theater spaces within the Exhibit and Poster Hall. Important Consideration: The 黑料正能量Health Meeting Program Committee will consider Micro Symposium and Hub Session proposals for expansion into longer-format sessions to ensure innovative ideas from the community are captured and evaluated. Proposals that align with 黑料正能量Health Meeting priorities may be selected by the Program Committee for expansion into a longer-format session to incorporate multiple expert perspectives and in-depth scientific content. If selected for an expanded session, the Committee will collaborate with the submitter to refine the proposal and identify the most appropriate session format.

How to Propose a Micro Symposium

Micro Symposia are single speaker sessions designed to provide a focused, expert-led exploration of a single impactful topic. If you are considering proposing a Micro Symposium, keep the following principles in mind:

Focus on one clearly defined topic. The session should center on a timely, relevant and scientifically significant subject that can be explored effectively within a 50-minute format.
Highlight why the topic matters. Proposals should demonstrate the topic's importance to the microbiology community, its relevance to current scientific advances and the potential impact on attendees.

If your proposal is selected for inclusion in the 2027 scientific program, your responsibilities as the speaker will include:

To complete your session proposal, you will first need an 黑料正能量account to login to the submission portal. Once in the portal, provide your contact information to access the submission portal to complete the required details listed below.

Meeting Selection: choose 1 of the 3 meetings that best aligns with your proposed session. Please do not submit the same proposals to multiple meetings or topics; duplicate sessions will be rejected.
Topic Selection: select a topic from the 2027 list that fits your proposal or submit a broader topic under the Scientific Foundations category.
Session Title: clearly state the topic of the session.
Content Level: indicate whether the session is intended for a novice, intermediate, advanced audience or all levels.
Session Description: provide a brief overview (4–5 sentences) of the content.
Learning Objectives: list 3 clear objectives using active verbs to describe what participants will learn.

Proposal Review and Notification

Following the submission deadline on Aug. 12 by 2 p.m. ET, all proposals will be reviewed by the program committees. The committees will convene in late August 2026 to evaluate submissions and finalize the scientific program.

Due to the volume of submissions and potential topic overlap, the program committees may:

Collaborate with submitters to further develop the session, potentially shifting the original focus or combining similar proposals into an expanded session format.
Modify proposed sessions to better align with the overall program.

If your proposal is selected for merging, modification or collaboration, a program committee member will contact you in late-August 2026.

All proposal submitters will be notified of their submission status in September 2026. If your session is accepted for the 2027 program, you must confirm your participation as a speaker by the deadline provided in your notification.
